David Daniel

My name is David Daniel. I'm a senior from Marietta, GA. I'm a Senior at the University of Georgia, and i'm beginning to wonder if i'll ever graduate. For my first three years at Georgia I studied Landscape Architecture, but I have recently switched to Speech Communication. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little happy i'll be able to squeeze another football season or two out of my college career, but my bank account is starting to hurt.

My dad keeps telling me I need to figure out a career path and make a decision on what I want to do with my life. I always respond that i'll figure it out when I get there. I'm not trying to be lazy or naive of the future, but when I look at my friends who have graduated almost none of them are doing anything they actually planned on or enjoy. They keep telling me, "STAY AS LONG AS YOU CAN," to the point i'm almost scared to graduate.

Every time I think if my post-college life, I see myself either in Colorado or traveling through Europe and South America. To be honest, a job is the last thing on my mind. I figure as long as I like the people around me and find a job I love, i'll be happy in the end.

This lovely young man to the left is my Great Uncle, ironically named Jack Daniel. He may not be the old whiskey legend, but at least I can say i'm related to someone famous. You may recognize his face, he was the winner of the Guinness Book of World Records' ugliest man contest. If I had one wish, it would be to leave my family with a better legacy than that of Great Uncle Jack.
